| Applicants under the Federal Skilled Worker program are assessed against a series of factors developed by Immigration Canada in order to determine whether they can become economically established in Canada. Skilled workers are expected to have the skills, education, work experience, language ability and other qualities needed to find a job in Canada. Though those do not guarantee an immigrant a job in Canada they can secure successful immigration to Canada. Each assessed factor is allotted a certain number of points. To qualify for immigration to Canada, a Skilled Worker applicant must earn not less than 67 points and prove that they have funds to settle in Canada. Applicants are awarded points for the following factors: EDUCATION. Different number of points is given for various education levels. The maximum of 25 is awarded for the factor. LANGUAGE SKILLS. This assesses applicant's knowledge of English and/or French. Applicant can get a maximum of 24 points if they speak, read, comprehend and write both in English and French fluently. EXPERIENCE. Applicant must have at least one year of experience in his occupation(s) to qualify. Applicant can get up to 21 points under the factor. AGE. Applicant will get the maximum of 10 if they are between 21 and 49. ARRANGED EMPLOYMENT. This refers to a job in Canada offer approved by a Human Resource Center in Canada, which entitles applicant to 15 extra points. ADAPTABILITY. Applicants are awarded up to 10 points under the Adaptability Factor. PROOF OF FUNDS. Applicant must have enough money to support their family after arrival in Canada.
